Job Description
We are a smaller, reputable commercial construction company seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have several years of proven experience in all aspects of masonry, including brick, block, and stone work.
Need journeyman mason must know brick, block, and stone. Need several years of experience. Work for a smaller commercial contractor. Work is year-round. At times need to help the hod carrier.
Need hod carrier or good laborer that wants to work. Must have a vehicle! Work consists of mixing mortar and carrying materials for masons. Need to be able to lift up to 90 pounds. Job includes setting of scaffolding.
This is a full-time, year-round position with consistent work. The candidate must be a team player and be willing to assist the hod carrier when needed to ensure project efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Lay brick, block, and stone to construct or repair commercial and residential structures.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials and layout.
Mix mortar, grout, and other compounds as required.
Cut and trim masonry units to fit around obstacles or to create specific designs.
Ensure all work is performed to a high standard of quality and precision.
Collaborate with the project foreman and other team members to meet project deadlines.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Assist the hod carrier with material handling and other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Journeyman Mason with expertise in brick, block, and stone.
Strong understanding of masonry techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices on a construction site.
